Are you ready for our monthly promenade across the stars? September is dedicated to Virgo, the most large constellation in the Zodiac circle and the second in the sky (the first one is Hydra). It's pretty difficult know who was the Virgo. According to Sumerians, was called the Furrow and Spica, the most shining star, was the ear of Shala, goddess of grain. Greeks and Romans associated Virgo with goddess Demeter/ceres and later with his daughter, Persephone/Proserpina. During Roman Empire Virgo was associated to Astrea, the goddess of justice, holding the Libra in her hand (actually, Libra's scales once were the claws of Scorpio). There's also the sad story of Erigone, daughter of Icarius of Athen, who hanged herself after discovering her father's corpse. Dyonisus put father and daughter among the stars (Boote and Virgo) and, last but not to least, in Middle Age Virgo was associated to Blessed Holy Mary.
No one knows who Virgo should depict. We know is the last summer's constellation and who born under her stars is a very meticulous person.

Pronte per il nostro viaggetto mensile tra le costellazioni dello Zodiaco? oggi tocca alla più cicciona di tutte, seconda solo all'Idra; sto parlando della costellazione della Vergine, legata fin dall'antichità alle messi e al raccolto. I sumeri ci vedevano un solco d'aratro, e Spica, la stella più brillante, era la spiga di grano della dea delle messi Shala. Per Greci e Romani la Vergine divenne Demetra/Cerere prima e Persefone/Proserpina poi. In età imperiale, questa costellazione fu associata alla Giustizia, creando per lei la vicina costellazione della Bilancia (i cui piatti sono, in realtà, le chele dello Scorpione). C'è anche la triste storia di Erigone, figlia di Icario di Atene, che s'impiccò dopo aver scoperto il cadavere del padre, e che Dioniso pose nel cielo, creando le costellazioni di Boote e della Vergine. Infine, nel Medioevo questa costellazione divenne la Vergine Maria.
Insomma, si sono perse le tracce del significato di questa costellazione! sappiamo di lei che è l'ultima del cielo estivo e che i nati sotto questo segno sono mooooolto meticolosi. Pure troppo.

For the last summer manicure I've chosen ILNP Rehab, a green linear holo I cannot shoot nicely because the weather. I've made a triangle shape with the painter tape and I've layered down one coat of KIKO Quick Dry #819. Actually, this nail polish let me down because it became  stringy and gloppy after half bottle. I've used the thinner, but, honestly, I've purchased this bottle in early days of July. Isn't too soon?

Per l'ultimo segno dell'estate ho scelto un olografico lineare color verde intenso di ILNP, Rehab, che mi è stato impossibile fotografare a causa del brutto tempo di questi giorni. Ho creato una nail art geometrica ritagliando dei triangolo dal nastro adesivo da pittore e coprendo la parte 'libera' con KIKO Quick Dry 819. Questo smalto mi ha deluso: a metà boccetta diventa filante ed ingestibile. Ho già dovuto usare il thinner e ho comprato questo prodotto ai primi di Luglio. Francamente, mi aspettavo una resa migliore.

C'è un fan DC in sala? Sì? So cosa stai pensando. Questa manicure ti sembra familiare, vero? Assomiglia al costume delle Lanterne Verdi, vero? Ma io ti ho già detto che mio amrito è un fan di LV, vero? E sì, il suo colore preferito è il verde.
