I'm thinking I was nightly abducted by aliens, because I do not wear crelly with sesquins, but I was looking for sometingh nice and I stumbled upon this lovely nail polish collection from NYC, called Fancy Dotty. I picked up a nude, called NY Lady and I wear it for few days.

in questa estate rovente sto scoprendo che mi piacciono finish e colori inusuali per me. Avete visto la foto qui sopra, no? Non è sufficiente per pensare di essere stata rapita dagli alieni?

It's time to take a look at the starry sky above our heads! This month's constellation is the Cancer (that means crab in Latin), a medium-size constellation, but is the dimmest among Zodiac. Its stars are rather faint but it contains some solar sistems and the most famous open cluster of the nother Emisphere: Praesepe (M44), the manger, or the Beehive.
According to greek mythology, there was a gigantic crab Karkinos, that bit Hercules while he was fighting the many-headed Hydra. Hercules crushed it and the goddes Hera, who has sent Karkinos against Hercules place the crab among the stars.

Anche per questo mese è arrivato il momento di alzare la testa ed osservare un po' più da vicino le stelle. Oggi tocca alla Costellazione del Cancro, la meno visibile di tutto lo Zodiaco, ma la più ricca di corpi interessanti per gli astronomi, che vi hanno trovato alcuni sistemi solari (quello di Cancri 55 possiede un pianeta simile alla Terra) ed il più fmaoso ammasso stellare aperto di tutto l'emisfero settentrionale: Praesepe o l'Alveare (M 44).
Secondo la mitologia greca, hera invio un granchio gigantesco contro Ercole, intento a pestare di brutto brutto l'Idra di Lerna. Purtroppo per il granchio, Ercole lo fece a pezzi pestandolo ben bene, ma Hera volle ringraziare la creatura e lo pose tra le stelle.

P2 Cosmetics Volume Gloss #240 Royal Beauty is a dark indigo crelly. I say it's an indigo and not a blue or blurple because it appears a blue-toned purple into the bottle, but shifts to dark marine blue once you put it over your nails. It's a shade between Imperial Blue and Persian blue.
Formula is pretty good (no stinks, no floating, self-levelling) and application has been so easy. It dries in a raisonable time and is easy to use for gradient and such, 'cause its finish. It's very shin-y and bright. I didn't use any top coat at all and in the photos above you should see me as a ghost over my own nails!

P2 Cosmetics Volume Gloss #240 Royal Beauty è un crelly indaco scuro. In boccetta è un bel viola a base blu, ma quando lo stendete si rivela essere una via di mezzo tra il Blu Imperiale e il Blu di Persia. Indaco, quindi.
La formula è buona (non puzza, non inonda le cuticole, autolivellante) e l'applicazione è stata a prova d'errore. Asciuga in tempi ragionevoli ed è ottimo da usare per le gradient grazie alla fluidità del suo finish. È molto lucido e qui lo vedete dopo due passate senza top coat. Riuscite a vedere il riflesso della sottoscritta nella foto qui sopra? Sembro un fantasma!!

As my NPA friends know, I'm unable to recognise indigo between rainbow shades. I know it exist, but indigo's presence is a pure question of faith, to me.

Al solito, mi sono presa un'infreddata coi fiocchi e stavo per saltare anche quest'episodio della Finishpedia. Alè! Oggi va in scena un finish impossibile da scoprire in boccetta, il crelly!

When a crème and a jelly have a baby, we call it 'crelly'. A crelly is shiny like a jelly, but more opaque; you can see the smile lineof your nails after three coats. It's quite impossible to recognize a crelly just looking at the bottle. You should take a peak at the brush (if there's a sample, of course. If there is not, ask before open the bottle, please!): if the bristles are covered entirely by the polish, you have a crème; if they are coverd half way, you have a crelly.
Un bel giorno una lacca ed un jelly s'innamorarono a tal punto da creare una schiatta di lucidissimi pupotti: i crelly. I crelly sono lucidi come i jelly, ma un filo più opachi. S'intravede sempre la linea della ricrescita, ma il colore tende ad essere più pieno. I crelly li riconosci dal pennello: se il pennello è coperto per intero dallo smalto, abbiamo una lacca. Se è coperto a metà, e la formula sembra liquida, allora si tratta di un crelly.

I've used three coats here and no top coat at all. It was a love at the very first sight! ♥

Today I want to reveal the second surprise I've thought for this year (the first one is ZODIAKOS, by the way). I have had the idea of a ONEPIECE inspired nail art serie. I called it "Sailing", after the lovely Christopher Cross's song, and because they characters are pirates. And what a pirate usually does - when she doesn't raid another ships?
Sailing. What else?
I'm a big fan of ONEPIECE since 2002, when I saw the first anime episodes, and few days after my husband and I bought all the mangas already published. It's an ongoing series, since 1997, (the pilot was published on my birthday!) so this year will be the 18th anniversary of manga and 16th for anime. GOSH!
I thought it could be nice make every month a nail art inspired by the crew's members, starting by the captain, Monkey D. Rufy.

My first nail polish was a nude shade, but IMHO the classic nail polish shade is red, because my granny wears always this colour on her long and beautiful almond shape nails since I can remember. A Layla red, because Layla was a cheap brand with a huge red palette.
Today I want to share with you a crelly one, from first release of Layla's Ceramic Effect. This is #06 Milan Red, an Hollywood red (as we call this shade in Italy). I used it in my previous nail art, and it works lovely for this purpose.
It's shiny and beautiful and it doesn't deserve top coat, but be careful, because it stains! Use a vaseline or some drops of nail oil around your cuticles, before remove it. You can see three coats of nail polishes on my nails: you could be happy with just two coats, but I'm a former biter, so my smile line is more thick than normal. And I don't like to see it.

I think I'm a winter person, even if I'm a Summer baby (I was born in the hottest July of the last century). I love seeing the snow falling down, and enjoying hot tea with a cozy blanket over my shoulders. I took inspiration from the cup in the photo (it comes from a duo set), an ivory ceramic cup with red garnements (it's a Christmas present, after all!).
