È più forte di me, mi piace tantissimo questo disegno! 

That thing's happened.
Yesterday I've gone to my hairdresser to shorten my hair (I've a huge and massive multitude of fine hair , FIY) and to fix my color. The color went palest than usual («It's summer, afterall!», she tweeted) and my layered hairdo is not what I's looking for. Today I'm pretty pissed off, 'cause I have a huge dry twig instead my hair. Let's talking about nail polish, 'cause I need to cheer up my mood.

È successa quella cosa.
Ieri sono andata dal parrucchiere per accorciare i capelli (ho una marea di capelli finissimi) e sistemare il colore. Il colore è uscito fuori più chiaro del solito («È estate, dopotutto!», ha trillato lei) e il mio taglio iperscalato va benissimo per Asgard e non per l'umidissima Roma. Sono nera. Ho una palla di sterpi al posto dei capelli. Meglio parlare di smalti luccicanti per risollevare un morale ai minimi storici.

Today I want to share with you the nail polish I have used as base for my last Birth Flowers' nail art, Roses vs Peonies (you don't have missed it, don't you?). It's a lovely coral pink from an austrian brand that finally we could find in selected OVS stores here in Italy. I'm talking about P2, and the finish I've chosen is called "Leather Matte".

Continua il mio periodo rosa, come vi avevo accennato nello scorso post della Birth Flowers, Roses vs Peonies (non ve lo siete perso, vero?), e oggi vi mostro lo smalto che ho usato come base, un textured a metà di una marca che è finalmente sbarcata anche in Italia, P2.

As I said when I blogged over textured finish, every brand has its own way to call textured nail polishes: textured, sands, sugar, pixie and so on.
At P2 they call this finish Leather Matte, because it's not so gritty and bumpy as others (China Glaze, anyone?) but it isn't absolutely smooth as its others colleagues.
It's very difficult stamping over a textured, but not in this case. I love this nice guy, 'cause I think it could attract also people that dislike textured.

Let's talking about Rock Steady (and where is Be-Bop?!)!
It's a nice shade of coral pink with an amazing formula and an old school brush into a 10 ml square bottle. This shape is very easy to hold when you take pictures, but I don't think they have made it for this purpose.

Anyway, the formula is a little bit fluid than others textured (I'm thinking about KIKO's and Barry M's) but it doesn't run over your cuticles. Dries faster than a crème but slowler than a textured. It's an everlasting love polish, so you could use it for four days at least without tipwears.

Come vi ho spiegato quando abbiamo conosciuto il finish textured, ogni casa li chiama a modo proprio: sabbiati, sugar, pixie e così via.
Alla P2 hanno optato per l'effetto Cuoio, forse eprché non è così rugoso e cementoso come gli altri (China Glaze, anyone?), ma non è neppure liscio come i suoi colleghi.
È difficile stampare sopra ad un textured, ma non in questo caso. Mi piace questo smalto e credo piacerà anche a chi non ama molto il finish in questione.

Ma vediamolo più da vicino, questo Rock Steady (e Be-Bop dov'è?): è un bellissimo punto di rosa corallo con una formula scorrevole ed un pochino più fluida rispetto al normale (penso ai KIKO e ai Barry M) ed un pennello alla vecchia maniera. Il tutto in 10 ml di boccetta squadrata, che è una manosanta quando si passa alla questione foto. Ok, non credo l'abbiano studiata a questo scopo; tuttavia, si maneggia che è un piacere!

Asciuga meno velocemente dei colleghi sabbiati (ma più in fretta degli altri), ma dura quattro giorni pieni prima che appaiano le prime sbeccature.

It's Friday and I'm stewing for the new plates @Born Pretty Store! Before I check the website to purchase some of them (making a huge massacre on my bank account), let me introduce to you the weekly finish: textured.

Textured is kind of that dries rough with bumpy finish. You could find textured polishes with glitter (OPI, KIKO, Zoya) or  not (KIKO, Barry M, WjCon, China Glaze). Every brand has his own way to call his textured nail polishes, so you could find strange names like "sugar", "sandy", "pixie" and so on, but don't panic: we are always talking about textured.

Finalmente è venerdì e non vedo l'ora di correre sul sito Born Pretty Store per acquistare alcune plate che ho adocchiato e che sembrerebbero davvero carine. Prima di fare danni, parliamo del finish odierno, il textured.

Come definire un textured? Non si riconosce dalla boccetta, ma una volta asciutto. È opaco, ma fa le grinze (non trovo altre parole!), come il battistrada degli penumatici. Esistono textured semplici o con i glitter, ed ogni marca ha il suo nome in codice per questo finish, come 'sugar', 'sandy', 'pixie', ma niente paura: sempre di textured si parla!

I own lots of textured crèmes, as I call them, because I'm not a sparkle girl and I do not like dealing with glitters. I'm glad if I can avoid them.

China Glaze Bump in The Night is a plain black textured polish. It's a one coater, as many textured are. It lasts forever. It dries in a blink of an eye. It allows me to skip the top coat step (ok, let's be honest: I always skip the top coat step, but in this case it's not necessary!). Sadly, it stains, so do not forget to use a pell-off base under this baby, or to rub vaselline or some drops of cuticle oil before to grab your remover.

I know you'll see some sparkle of lights over my nails, but there are not glitters at all. It's only love the reflex of my lights, do you believe that?

Io vado matta per i textured, e ne possiedo un discreto numero; quelli che preferisco sono di gran lunga le versioni senza glitter. D'altro canto, adoro le lacche. Che vi aspettavate?

China Glaze Bump in The Night è uno smalto textured nero dal colore pieno. Amo questo smalto per i suoi pregi. One coater. Highlander. Asciuga quasi all'istante. Posso saltare a cuor leggero il momento del top coat (ok, lo faccio comunque, ma qui non è davvero necessario!). Il suo unico difetto è che macchia in maniera mala (termine tecnico), quindi non dimenticate di usare una base peel-off o di stendere della vasellina o un paio di gocce di olio per cuticole prima di toglierlo.

Il riflesso che vedete è quello delle lampade. Non sembra anche a voi una gettata di catrame appena steso. Figo, né?

Oggi è stata proprio una splendida giornata, qui a Roma. Cielo terso, clima quasi primaverile... Ho speso un piacevole pomeriggio facendo un po' di sano giardinaggio (annaffia di qua, pota di là...) e adesso, prima di infilarmi sotto le coperte, è il momento di condividere la nail art che ho realizzato per il Sailing di questo mese! Nascondete i portafogli, sto per presentarvi Nami, la Gatta Ladra!

Nami is a 18 y.o. girl who wants to become the best cartographer ever. Her name means "wave" in japanese and her dream is drawing the map of the entire world. She's smart, cynical and obsessed by money. She loves tangerines, new clothes and money, of course. Nami is the first character to appear in the anime serie, the third to join Rufy and Zoro and the fifth to join really the Mugiwara crew (after Usopp and Sanji) after she was freed by working as fishman Arlong's subordinate. Her color is orange, like tangerine peel.
Nami was raised by Bellemere (meaning "step mother" in french) with an older ste sister, Nojiko. Arlong killed Bellemere and took Nami to his Arlong Park, where she began a member of his crew. To forget these hard times, Nami covers the Arlong's crew tattoo with a brand new design: a blue windmill with a tangerine.

Nami è una ragazza di diciotto anni che vuole diventare la migliore cartografa del mondo e disegnare le mappe dell'intero pianeta. Il suo nome significa 'onda' in giapponese. È intelligente, cinica e ossessionata dai soldi. Ama i mandarini, i vestiti alla moda e i soldi, ovviamente! È il primo personaggio ad apparire nell'anime, il terzo a condividere il viaggio con Rufy (dopo Zoro) e il quinto ad unirsi alla ciurma, dopo che Rufy e gli altri la liberano dall'Uomo-Pesce Arlong, un pirata con cui Nami si era alleata perché risparmiasse il suo villaggio, Coconut Village. Il suo colore preferito è l'arancione.
Nami è stata cresciuta da Bellemere ("matrigna" in francese) e ha una sorella maggiore, Nojiko. Per dimenticare il suo passato ha coperto il tatuaggio della ciurma di Arlong con uno nuovo, una stilizzazione di una girandola ed un mandarino.

I painted my nails with two coats of Wjcon Sugar Effect #817 and two coats of KIKO Denim nail lacquer #459 Woodstock Creme on my ring. Then, using a dotting tool, I drew two crossed S-shape lines with Bella Oggi gel effect #12 Plastic Blue. I added a dot on the top of my design to create the tangerine.
It's not perfect, I know. Next time I shall use acrylics paints.

Sono partita con due mani di Wjcon Sugar Effect #817 e due di KIKO Denim nail lacquer #459 Woodstock Creme sull'anulare. Con un dotting tool e un paio di gocce di Bella Oggi gel effect #12 Plastic Blue, ho disegnato due S incrociate, ed ho aggiunto un pois in cima per ricreare il mandarino. Non è perfetto, lo so; la prossima volta userò degli acrilici diluiti.

I like very much Nami, because she's always happy and smart. She has had a very bad times, when she was a little girl, so she knows how precious smiles are. And she loves wearing cool outfits, like every girl in this planet. Nami is a very fun character. She's not the damsel in distress, not anymore. I think her best pairing is with Zoro (Oda does not care about stuffs like this), but, alas, Nami is a modern lady. She's fine just the way she is.

I like strong people, and I can't stand crybabies girls. I can't deal with them. It's ok crying. Sometimes. For a good reason. Not everytime! I don't understand why they don't dry their eyes, don't stand up, and don't face the life right and square. I can't feel any sympathy whit characters like them. I'm sorry.

Mi piace molto il personaggio di Nami perché è sempre allegra, ma anche molto sveglia. Ha un passato duro alle spalle, quindi adesso prende la vita con più filosofia. E le piace fare shopping selvaggio (alza la manina). È davvero un personaggio divertente. Non è (più) la damigella da salvare, ma una tosta che combatte. La vedrei bene con Zoro (ad Oda certi dettagli non interessano), ma è anche vero che Nami è una ragazza moderna. Che sa stare benissimo anche da sola.

Ed ora, una domanda per voi:

Vi piacciono i personaggi femminili forti?

A me piacicono quei personaggi che sì, ok, piangono se e quando ce n'è bisogno, ma non perennemente. Non capisco perché le fanciulline piagnone dei manga non si rimbocchino le maniche e risolvano i loro casini. Non riesco a provare alcuna simpatia per chi frigna e basta!
