And here we go!
Welcome to our new challenge, called Dark Winter (Songs) that lasts until Spring. Every weekend we will show you a very dark colour and/or a nail art inspired by a music genre: Rock, Prog, Blues, Jazz and so on. This cool idea belongs to my friend Rebenice, she's a real volcano.
The first episode is about Rock'n'Roll, and I must admit it's been an easy- peasy task because Rock'n'Roll is such a big label indeed!
I chosen a rock band that doesn't need any introduction, and a song that turn fourthy-years-old last Halloween's Eve, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Finalmente prende il via Dark Winter (Songs), l'evento stagionale che ci terrà compagnia fino a  Primavera, e in cui le mie amiche ed io ti mostreremo uno smalto scuro scuro in modo assurdo. Le nail art sono legate ad un genere musicale a puntata, e questo lo dobbiamo alla mente geniale di Rebenice, un vero vulcano di idee!
Il primo episodio è dedicato al Rock'n'Roll, e ti confesso che è stato davvero difficile scegliere, così ho optato per una band che mette un po' tutti d'accordo e una loro canzone che ha compiuto quarant'anni lo scorso Halloween: Bohemian Rhapsody dei Queen.

Aujourd'hui on commence la marathon d'hiver avec mes blopines. Chaque fin de semaine tu trouveras sur mon blog un vernis très très très foncé et/ou un nail art sur le thème musical. Ma précieuse copine Rebenice a eu l'idée de consacrée nos nail arts aux différents genres musicales, et aujourd'hui on va commencer avec le Rock'n'Roll.
J'ai eu quelque problèmes à choisir ma chanson et j'ai opté pour une groupe rock qui tout le monde aime et une chanson qui viens d'avoir quarante ans: les Queen avec Bohemian Rhapsody !

I like Queen even if I'm not an out and out fan. I like them, of course I do, but they are always fifth or sixth in my hypothetical top ten. But Bohemian Rhapsody is a song everyone should have sung once in her life. The lyrics are such an enigma, but I don't care about them. This song gives me joy and the trill to sing it out loud.

Io non sono una fan dura&pura dei Queen, anche se mi piacciono parecchio (si aggiudicano il quinto, sesto posto di una mia ipotetica top ten), ma alzi la mano chi non ha mai cantato Bohemian Rhapsody una volta nella vita. Sì, anche sotto la doccia.
Ok, avrà un testo ermetico, ma chissene frega! La adoro e mi fa venire voglia di cantarla a squarciagola sin dalle prime battute.

J'aime bien les Queen même si je ne suis pas fan à la mort. Ils sont au cinquième, sixième place dans mes les dix meilleurs, mais, hélas, je pari que tu auras chanté cette chanson une fois dans ta vie, n'est-ce pas ?
Oui, ça conte en prenant la douche aussi !
Je ne perds pas trop temps en déchiffrant le texte: j'aime cette chanson et j'ai envie de la chanter à voix haute !

For this nail art I took inspiration from some Freddie's outfit from the 70's. He's wearing a black and white chequed suit that reminds me Harlequin's clothes (or Pierrot, for my french readers). My base is Barry M Nail Paint 47 Black. It's a black crelly perfect in two coats. I made a reverse stamping for my medium and rinf fingers using two coats of China Glaze White Out, and the chess pattern of héhé stamping plate 001 I got from Lady Queen Shop as a press sample. The plate is nicely carved and Barry M Black works good for stamping purposes. The plate is still avalaible on the website; feel free to use my code TYUS15 for 15%off discount!!

L'ispirazione viene da una (sobria) tutina di Freddie Mercury a rombi bianchi e neri, molto simile all'abito di Harlequin (o di Pierrot, se più vi aggrada). La base è Barry M Nail Paint 47 Black, un crelly perfetto in due passate.
Ho usato poi la tecnica del reverse stamping con due passate di China Glaze White Out e un disegno a rombi presente sulla piastrina héhé 001 che ho ricevuto da Lady Queen Shop. La piastrina è facile da usare e si trasferisce bene anche utilizzando uno smalto non da stamping, come Barry M Black.

J'ai pris inspiration d'une tenue de Freddie Mercury, un costume a carreaux en blanc et noir, qui me ressemble les vêtements d'Arlequin (ou les couleurs de Pierrot). La abse de mon nail art est Barry M Nail Paint 47 Black, un vernis crèlly parfait en deux couches.
J'ai utilisé la technique du reverse stamping avec un motiv à carreaux de la plaque héhé 001 - que j'ai reçu par Lady Queen Shop - et deux couches de China Glaze White Out.
