Every crew needs someone to look after the ship and fixes it up. Franky is the ship's carpenter, he's a  naff guy who looks like Ace Ventura (but he doesn't talk with animals), he's the Franky Family boss and he's a self-made cyborg...
Franky's story is a little bit complicated and I'll try to cut a long story short. He was raised by Tom, a shipwright who secretly holds the plans for a devastating ancient weapon. After Tom's execution, Franky suffers severe injuries and he only survives turning himself into a cola-powered cyborg with super-human strength. 
Do not judge a book by his cover. He joins the Mugiwara crew after  getting Nico Robin back from the World Government. He's battle cry is a out loud screamed «Super!». 

Oggi è lunedì e cerco un altro metro per mimetizzarmi in questa città e piove che la manda giù. Ci vuole proprio una bella nail art estiva, che ci porti un filo di sole. Senza caldo, possibilmente.

La storia di Franky è complicata, cercherò di farla breve: è adottato da Tom, un uomo-pesce carpentiere che custodisce i piani per realizzare un'arma devastante. Dopo aver cercato di salvare Tom dal patibolo, Franky riporta delle ferite così gravi che è costretto a sostituire i pezzi andati con delle parti in acciaio, e già che si trovava, ha ben pensato di alimentarsi a cola...
Si aggiunge alla ciurma dopo aver sottratto Nico Robin dalle grinfie del Governo Mondiale. Il suo grido di battaglia è un «Super!!» urlato a squarciagola e anche se sembra pazzo, è molto più maturo di quello che sembra. Non si giudica un libro dalla copertina, dopotutto...

According to weather forecast, today should be July's hottest day. I want to share something fresh with you, like this stamping I've made a couple of week ago (do you remember my post about Pupa Holographic, do you?) with Born Pretty Store plate BP#66.

Siccome secondo il meteo oggi dovrebbe essere la giornata più calda di Luglio, ho deciso di condividere uno stamping fresco e delicato che ho realizzato un paio di settimane fa (ricordate il mio post sul Pupa Holographic, vero?) con la matrice BP#66 di Born Pretty Store.

I changed my shape again!
I hitted whit a very bad bad bad punch my wall, so I've shortened my nails and I come back to the squared shape.
Sigh.
I like rounded nails, but I think that this shape suits better on me AND it's easier to manage when you have an anarchic lenght grow.

Ho cambiato ancora forma.
Ho assestato un pugno forte forte forte ad un muro e sono stata costretta a tornare alle sane, vecchie abitudini. Sigh.
Mi piace la mandorla, ma temo che la forma squadrata sia quella che mi stia meglio, alla fin fine, e che sia più facile da tenere sotto controllo per via della crescita anarchica dei miei artigli. Vedremo, insomma.

Ok, ladies, glassflecked  finish has been my bête noir, because I'm not able to distinguish it. I see this kind of nail polish like a bottle with a glitter problem. Peeking into my mates' choices I discovered that I have more glassflecked than I thought. I'm glad for this serie of posts. I hope I will not forgot what a glassflecked is. Anyway, what exactly is a glassflecked?

Ok fanciulle. I glassflecked sono stati la mia bestia nera fin dall'inizio, perché io li confondo con i glitter. In clamoroso sovrappeso, ma glitter. Sbirciando tra le scelte delle mie colleghe ho scoperto di avere più GF di quanto credessi. Per fortuna ho aderito alla Finishpedia, così non dimenticherò tanto facilmente cosa siano i GF. Ma in tutto ciò, cosa diamine è il finish glassflecked?!

Prendete delle scagliette simili a vetro macinato non troppo fine e schiaffatele in una base jelly. Fatto. Facile facile. Certo, siccome mi piace incasinarmi l'esistenza, io ho scelto una base laccata, ma non stiamo a cavillare...

OPI Live and Let Die arriva dritto dritto dalla collezione Skyfall del 2012. È stato amore a prima vista, e per il nome (dalla canzone omonima di Paul Mc Cartney, colonna sonora dell'omonimo film del '73), e per il colore, un bellissimo verde scuuuuuro che più scuro non si può. Formula favolosa, asciugatura rapida, due passate nella foto, ma ne basterebbe una sola. Occhio, ché macchia; ma come si dice, nessuno è perfetto, giusto?

I realized that I like to buy my nail polishes not by the finish, but by the colour. I like purchase something blue, something red or something green. The finish is quite irrelevant, except for such particular finishes like holos, duochrome and so on. I've a couple of glassflecked in my stash. What a surprise!

What do you think about glassflecked. Do you like them? Do you hate them?

I like the green/gold combo. Looking at this polish is like seeing a greenish night sky FULL of golden stars. My crush is still alive, don't worry about it!

Da questo finish ho imparato che io compro per colore. Se mi piace la tonalità ('se mi trasmette un'emozione', come direbbe un'organizzatrice di eventi di terza categoria), allora scatta l'acquisto. L'eccezione a questa regola sono olografici e duochrome. Alla fine, posseggo anche io un paio di glassflecked nella mia collezione. Per caso. ma ci sono.

Voi che ne pensate? Vi piacciono? Li detestate?

Io non smetterei di fissare la combo verde/oro. Questo smalto è come un meraviglioso cielo notturno (verde) ingemmato di stelle (dorate). Sì, sì, tranquille, la cotta è tutt'ora in atto.

Thanks Goddess, we have seen the last episode of Broadchurch. What. A. Shame! Rumors say that we'll be a third season, and I'm very scared! Do we really need a third season, dear Heavens? Seriously?
Usually second seasons are something like a bridge between first and third, but this rule counts only if you have a story to tell. I think they have not and the second season is just the exception that proves the rule, but it's my humble opinion.

Today I want to share with you my exception that proves the rule. One of the many I keept in my sleeve, of course. If you know my tastes, you should also know that I have some kind of problems wearing brown polishes on my nails. I like this shade, but I don't think it fits on me. OPI Green on the Runaway is the exception that proves the rule.

Grazie al Cielo, abbiamo visto l'ultima puntata di Broadchurch. Un vero peccato, hanno gestito male l'intera faccenda dall'inizio. Pare che gireranno anche una terza stagione, ed io sono piuttosto perplessa. Le seconde stagioni sono di solito dei ponti che traghettano la storia dal primo al terzo atto, ma questo vale solo se c'è una storia da raccontare. Secondo me, la seconda stagione di Broadchurch ha ampiamente dimostrato che la risposta è "no".

Parlando di eccezioni e regole, oggi vi mostro una delle tante che costellano la mia vita. Chi mi conosce SA che il marrone mi piace, ma che non riesco a vedermelo addosso. Ebbene, OPI Green on the Runaway è stata una deliziosissima eccezione...

OPI Green on the Runaway is a duochrome from the Coca Cola Collection (Fall 2014). Sadly, here in Italy we have seen only the red crème and the silver chrome at Sephora stores. Ok, there's the vanilla crème too. I found this lovely gorgeous baby at Selfridges on Boxing Day in London, and I have adopted immediatly. You can see this lovely shade-shifter over two coats of Barry M Black, because you couldn't wear OPI's duochromes without a base. You can't miss the complete shift between green and red, don't you agree?

OPI Green on the Runaway è un duochrome verde/rosso che arriva dalla collezione Coca Cola (Autunno 2014); purtroppo, presso i Sephora in Italia si sono visti solo le lacche rosso e crema e il chrome argento. Ho trovato questo cucciolo durante i saldi da Selfridges a Santo Stefano e non me lo sono lasciato scappare. Qui lo vedete sopra due mani di Barry M Black; purtroppo, i duochrome di OPI sono da stendere tassativamente sopra una mutanda, altrimenti si rischia di perdere tutta la loro bellezza.

I'm sorry for showing you these horrible cuticles, but I've hade some problems two week ago. The remover I've used was too aggressive and dried up my cuticles, and I have had some bendages over my right hand, so it has been difficult using the cuticle balm.
I really enjoyed this lovely guy. There's also a golden hint in the bottle that over your nails becomes the brown shade that has seduced me.
I think I'll wear it again and again and again, maybe using it as a base for a nail art (did someone said stamping?).

Vi prego di non badare all'aspetto orrendo delle mie cuticole. Purtroppo, il solvente che avevo sottomano era troppo aggressivo, e siccome la scorsa settimana ho avuto l'intera mano destra fasciata, è stato un po' complicato passare la crema per le cuticole.
Questo smalto mi ha conquistata! Come potete vedere, c'è anche un alone dorato in boccetta, il 'responsabile' della sfumatura marrone. Credo proprio che lo userò ancora e ancora e ancora, magari come base per una nail art (avete forse detto stamping?!).
