Of course we don't! But today we are talking about the beautiful ones among nail polish finishes: Suède!
A suède nail polish is, basically, a mattified shimmer. That's all, Folks. Very simple indeed. A suède finish has glitter OR shimmer on it, like a every shimmer on this planet, but it is his mat version. They are easy to spot among finishes because they are just like shimmer, but opaque. Easy, it isn't?

Certo che no! Ma oggi parliamo lo stesso dei belli belli in modo assurdo tra i finish esistenti: gli smalti suède.
Uno smalto suède è, in parole povere, uno shimmer opacizzato. Ha tutte le caratteristiche dello shimmer, con micropolveri in sospensione e a volte anche dei glitter veri e propri, ma opaco. Sono facilissimi da riconoscere proprio per il loro essere così simili agli shimmer che non ci si può sbagliare.

Orly Solid Gold is part of Orly's Metal Chic Metallic Matte Collection (Fall 2009). It's an antiqued gold, with a little hint of red. The formula is perfect (since 2009!) and the brush is failproof. This kind of finish doesn't deserve any tip, just remember to clean up your nail with some drops of vinegar before doing your manicure. Using a grip base, like essence's 24/7 or Nfu Oh's Aqua Base is not necessary, but it will be very very helpful.
Orly Solid Gold fa parte della Collezione Metal Chic Metallic Matte uscita nell'autunno del 2009. Il colore è un oro antico, con un goccio di rosso. La formula è ancora perfetta e il pennello a prova d'errore. Un trucco per far risaltare il finish è quello di sgrassare le unghie con qualche goccia di aceto da tavola prima di iniziare la manicure. Se poi usate una base grippante come 24/7 di essence o Aqua Base il lavoro sarà ancora più semplice.

I love this finish, because it reminds me a velvet effect (but I HATE velour or flurry or velvet nails). It's highly tactile, don't you agree? And this kind of finish dries very fast. Lovely!

Come ogni primo lunedì del mese, eccoci arrivati ad un altro appuntamento con Zōdiakos. Oggi ce ne andiamo tra le stelle ad osservare l'ultimo e forse il più romantico dei segni zodiacali, i Pesci.

I chose to replicate the sea over my nails. I love the sea in every season, but during winter time the sea gains a magic allure. It's the best place to spend some times on your own, thinking, plotting new ideas, feeling new sensations and waiting for the good season. And enjoying the sand and the water before the summer's crowd.
I just mixed up two tutorials, one of Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and one of Janelle from elleandish (You could found them here and here).
I used two coat of Pupa Lasting Color Gel 078 Malibù (a light blue crème) as base. Then I layered Orly Night Owl (a taupe brown with a golden shimmer), Pupa Lasting Color Gel 078 Malibù and Bella Oggi gel effect #12 Plastic Blue (a blue crème) over a piece of bath sponge and I sponged them over my nails. Then, in a small cup of room temperature filtered water, I dipping two drops of China Glaze White Out and China Glaze Rainbow. I sprayed a little bit of alcohol and I dived my fingers.
I used a mat top coat from Basic Beauty, an italian brand now called BB.

Ho scelto di riprodurre il mare sulle mie unghiette. Idea banalotta, lo so, ma morivo dalla voglia di avere uno scampolo d'acqua e sabbia sulle dita. Io amo il mare in ogni stagione, specie d'inverno, quando lo si può godere in riflessiva solitudine, senza la baraonda ed il caos che lo assedia d'estate.

I used a mat top coat because it gives a much more real effect to your nails. Sea tides are not shiny, but mat.

Il top coat mat regala un effetto più realistico all'insieme. Le onde e la schiuma marina sono opache, non lucide.

Saint Seiya is a mainstream anime series I love since the first italian release, in 1990. It's the story of a treason, a sacrifice and a fight for Athena, goddes of peace and justice -sic!! - (I must say out loud that the creator was just blessed having the core idea...). The movies will be on movie theaters tomorrow, but it has been released last July, 21 in Japan and East Asia. I must confess I'm a little bit worried about this movie's story, because the Sanctuary arc, the first chapter, has been rearranged in many ways (a male character is now a lady...), and because the translaters decided to use the italian names (they 'translate' character's names in early '90's, to make them more dishy and much more mythology referred).
Anyway, I think I'll see this movie. I saw Captain Harlock last January and it was gorgeous (even the story was a little bit meh). Cross fingers for me, ok?
I have some time to kill and for each of my nails I made a galaxy for the five main characters (I willingly ignored Saori); and because I've used a gazillion of products, let's this post started!
