When I was a little girl I deeply loved Aesop's and Phaedrus' tales because all the characters were animals. One of my favorite tale was about a crow and a peacock. The crow find peacock's plumage on the ground and wear it over her black feathers. Then, she makes fun of his crows companions and goes to join the peacocks. But when the peacocks see the crow, they bite her and peck at her untill she doesn't come back to the crows. But the crows throws her out the flock because her silly pride.

This tales instructs us with two precious advice. First of all, be always yourself and do not try to copycat anyone else, because lies have a short lifespan and the truth will out. Always.
The second one is that pride is a good thing, but too much pride is dangerous. Avoid mocking someone else, because who sows the wind reaps the whirlwind.

Quando ero piccola adoravo le storie di Esopo e Fedro perché i protagonisti erano tutti animali. Uno dei miei racconti preferiti era la storia del corvo superbo che trovava in terra delle piume di pavone e le indossava, tutto tronfio. Dopo aver deriso i suoi compagni corvi, questo genio asosluto se ne andava bel bello dai pavoni; i quali, vedendolo così conciato, gli rifilavano una lezione indimenticabile a suon di beccate. Il corvo tornava dal suo stormo, scoprendo che i suoi compagni non volevano più avere a che fare con un soggetto simile.

Questo racconto ci insegna due cose. La prima è quella di essere sempre noi stessi e di non provare ad imitare gli altri, perché le bugie hanno le gambe corte e la verità sale sempre a galla.
La seconda è che l'orgoglio è una bella cosa, ma nei limiti del consentito. Burlarsi del prossimo è un'azione meschina. E chi semina vento raccoglierà sempre tempesta. Prima o poi. Non si scappa.

For this look I've made a reverse stamping. I've used a Born Pretty Store plate full of bird designs (BP 75) that I've purchased in July. I painted my nails with two coats of Shaka Cherry Petals, a pretty nice white crème and once it was dried, I stamped the feathers using KIKO 329 Light Grey and KIKO Quick Dry 815. For the accent manicure I've stamped the peacock feather using Claire's Surfs Up!. I sealed my mani with the top coat.
